OKZest – June 2023 Updates

Vs Pages

In a first of a series of 'competitor' vs OKZest articles, we created a page on Nexweave vs OKZest. These articles will have 2 purposes:

  • SEO
  • Provide an overview of the competitor vs OKZest

We will never spread lies about our competition, we will highlight areas where we excel and ask people to try for themselves (which is why we provide a generous 2,500 generated images per month on our free plan , plus a 60 day money back guarantee on all our plans.

OpenGraph

We replaced the OpenGraph images on our landing pages. These are images that appear when our pages are shared on social media.

Dance Schools

We tried sending individualised emails to several dance schools, but none of them replied.

SEMRush

We tried the SEMRush backlink service to outreach to 100 websites. I explained who I was and offered to write a guest post for their website or newsletter. Only 2 replied, to say thanks but no thanks.

Marketing

We are working on the marketing plan outlined in our May 2023 blog update. It takes time…

Blog Posts

Added a blog post that included text relating the PGA Golf tour as this was trending on Google. We wanted to see if it would get any views – it didn't despite the page being indexed by Google. This website is obviously too small for trending keywords have any impact on views.

Twitter

We started the month with 93 followers and are now at 92 – that's a change of -1.08%, although it did fluctuate up to 97 twice. Using Publer's 'Recycle' function (combined with Spintax format), we have continued to add new posts that get repeated on a weekly/monthly basis.

Twitter Outreach

Currently, many of the people we message have under 500 followers and we spend too long manually messaging each one once they reply to our initial message. So we will change our approach to send a message and high manual engagement to people with a high number of followers and use a more self-explanatory message (with less manual engagement from us) to people with a low number of followers.

Social Media

We use Publer to manage our social media accounts. Paul has written the article 'Publer Takes the Effort out of Managing Your Social Media' to explain how we use it any why we like it so much.
